Gavel Pot

The derigging party arrived, with impeccable timing, just as the rigging party were on their way out. When he discovered we were planning on going down to the sump, Lionel swapped allegiances and the derigging party swelled to an impressive 8 people.

Mention must be made of Nigel, who provided us all with a good half hour's entertainment on the 3rd pitch, before we about-turned at the sump and headed for a surprisingly sunny Leck Fell, followed by an excellent BBQ and barrel of beer.

Parties:
Rigging: Brian, Andy, Jess, 'Lionel', James, Anthony & Gordon
Derigging: Keith, Stu, Rob, Nigel, Chris, Pete, Damian & 'Lionel'

An excellent trip despite the obvious embarressment getting hung up on the 3rd pitch. recieved a round of much apprecited applause from the posse when i eventually absielled to the bottom. Talking of which hopefully paid back their kindness by treating some members to some bottom flavas during the exit through the confined climbs

Excellent idea having two parties, even with a defector…

I missed the pretties but made it to the sump.

Great trip, bloody hard work hauling a bag full of water up :(

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
