Nigel and Brian up for a short trip decided to bag Alum’s South West route. Paid at the farm and received a ticket, not having received one of these before, Nigel nearly wipes his arse on it but takes evasive action and plants it on the dashboard using gravity and not bum fluff. At the pot we find the correct trees and use them as belays. The first drop has a rebelay at 10m. Brian on point, Nigel is tail end Charlie. The descent was good fun. The exposure in daylight was a pleasure to behold. I know you will all be pleased to learn (especially those on the infamous gavel trip), Nigel managed the rebelay quite adequately. Onto the ledge below the bridge and a further drop of some 20m, with a single hang rebelay on route to the ledge. The water was quite an event at this point so we made a return up the shaft. A fine Sunday morning trip, with an early finish meant a cup of tea at Fiona D’s.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
