Just returned from a superb morning in a new artificial cave at a Primary School in Bradford. It has over 250m of "passage"; in what was once a swimming pool.

We were filming for a promotional film for Entre-Prises (the makers) and the School, and we took Sophie along for added film-appeal. Sophie had a fantastic time and is likely to be the star of the film.

For those thinking that an artificial cave is a soft way out, you couldn't be further from the truth ... unless you're Sophie-sized, you'll find it pretty hard work with some interesting S-bends, squeezes, thrutches and crawls.

Interestingly I now ache (although how much of that is to do with having spent yesterday on my roof is anybody's guess!)

Party: Damian, Fiona & Sophie Were (YSS), Andy Eavis, Katie-May Eavis & Graham Mollard.
Time: 2.5 hrs[/quote]

Stupidly I forgot to take any photos until we had finished. I think I just got carried away. There will be a film, though, once it's edited.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
