Our second cave that we did was one that the Eldon had left going from last year and when we went in it was already down to about 350m, which constited of mainly big pitches, with a couple of short sharp sweet meanders and a couple of traverses thrown in.
After rerigging the last big pitch to avoid loose flakes and rope rub, we carried on and after dropping a few more pitches and some climb downs we finally broke the cave when we arrived at a sump pool at a depth of about 450m. At this point we turned round for the long slog out, noting a few possible leads on the way.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
