Chris and I were looking for an alternative to the proposed Pen-y-Ghent trip - I couldn't see the attraction in lots of wet crawling, particularly given the temperature ...... Chris had his back as I good excuse and I couldn't really leave him to not cave all day. While we were busy wasting time reading guide books John arrived a week early for the Try Caving. Perfect excuse! A trip to Valley Entrance was on. Si Holmes (Hades) also decided to join us. Chris and I had the best of the trip, sitting around in the main streamway while John and Si did all the wet bits and crawls. A quike trip to Great Aven was a must before we exited the cave and made a beeline for the cafe in Inglesport. Allin all a very pleasant day.
