Was going to be an SRT trip but due to some gear being forgot  no names mentioned
We opted for a wander round Peak Cavern, did our good deed for the day and took some scaffold and scaff clips to Squaw Junction for Jim Lister :) .

From here we made our way on to Wigman Aven and after climbing so far up this we trended off towards Galena Chamber, before dropping into this chamber, and at Nigels suggestion  we were to enjoy or should it be endure the joys of the Wind Tunnel. It starts off as a flatish crawl over a rocky floor, the second half involves a flatter crawl through what can only be described as liquid mud :(

This popped us back out in the Trenches just before Treasury Chamber, once through here we were then back in Upper Gallery and at this point Ann headed for the exit while we headed back to Surprise View for a trip down stream to have a look at the upstream end of the Buxton Sump. From here we turned round and headed for the exit, after the usual washing off to get rid of all the mud we had collected.
Trip time 3hrs30

The bruises all came out once I warmed up - thought I had got away with it, but I still feel as though I have been beaten up. The wind tunnel is not what I would describe as a tunnel - but thankfully was wind free, since I was at the back and it's the time of year for comsumption of sprouts.
Thanks Aunty Ann for a steady trip!!! Next time Nigel has a bright idea, ignore him.....

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
