One of Nigels better trip suggestions for an evening jaunt :)
Went and put a rope down the alternative shaft entrance for Dismal Hill, then walked over and went in Old Ing. Before reaching the first sump we did the flat out by-pass at roof level, which dropped us into Baker Street after the Second Sump.
From here we had a very enjoyable and sporting trip following the streamway down, passing some obstacles and several iffy looking traverses on the way :woohoo: . Pretty soon we arrived at our rope, but before exiting we followed the streamway down to the start of the fourth sump, which involved some deep water and traversing.
At this point we turned round and headed back to make our exit, after getting changed on a very cold and icy night we called in at the Crown ;) for a warm and a swift pint before heading back to the school.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
