Seven of us opted for the Mag trip, some had been before and some had not. Lovely day for the walk up, and we were all glad to get underground and cool down.
Fairly steady going as far as Caton Hall and then the fun started with a few people opting to go no further.
Got down to Whale then went and had a look at the start of Kamikazi and Earthworm before turning round to head out.
Think Nigel enjoyed  in fact his words were never a fu**ing gain :woohoo:
Trip time 5hrs30

No idea how I got on this crawly trip.
..... there was talk of other options........ I was envious of Brian going to do GG Dihedral with another club. But maybe next time on a YSS trip in summer? :)

........But Nigel being the lovely chap ;) that he is, he persuaded me to do Magnetometer. Cheers Nige :silly:

At least all the crawling was rewarded by some lovely passage and rock formations (I don't know the correct names for them all, but quite beautiful). They looked as if they had just been carved out. No rounding off of the features.Very clean cut & sharp. Lots of curtains, flow stone, gour pools - everywhere you looked there was something to see.
Some amazing round basin pools, on the floor and even going up the sides, lovely.

Another fantastic day out. I think we should rename it 'sunshine pot'. Alex an'me had another sunbathe on the surface after deciding to go no further than Caton Hall. That sounded like a crawl too far for me

A big thankyou! -to all the team.

A really enjoyable day out. :)

Yo Gordon, think you'll find it was the Rat Hole that they did and not Dihedral ;)

No I am sure he would want Susan to get the credit she deserves for both getting to the places where they were took and for taking them :cheer:

Not sure Rich, but knowing Nigel it could well be carpet burns

I always enjoy that cave, I just need to find someone as mad as me to go to the end (Kamikazi or earthworm extensions) as not one of the trips I have been on (various clubs) ever gets much past the whale :(.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
