With renewed interest in this trip we decided to try it again, sorry Alex :(
After a nice pleasant drive over to Kettlwell, we parked up at Park Rash and got changed, leaving all our clean clothes in the two cars we were leaving behind.
We then drove back over to park up and start the walk up to the entrance for Providence Pot, once down the entrance and through the first low crawl we were soon on our way with Nigel taking point for a while. Pretty soon we arrived at the first obstacle.....the blasted crawl which we all passed without any probs and in no time at all we had passed through the palace, dungeon, depot chamber to arrive at stal corner and the start of Dowbergill passage.
We followed this, mainly at stream level, to arrive at 800yds chamber for a quick chockie break before carrying on at stream level. When we got to the brew chamber boulder choke we took the high level route to miss out the nasty bits before dropping back to stream level, next waypoint was the rock window and once through this we carried on in the streamway again until we reached the climb up into the gypsum traverse. After negotiating this we were pretty soon dropping back to stream level to pass under the Buddhas Temple for the last section to pop out into Dow Cave and the steady stomp out to daylight.
Trip time 4hrs30

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
