First trip of the weekend with our man from Alaska aka Jim Nicholl's :)
5 of us met up at the TSG hut on the Saturday morning and after the obligatory buttie from the cob shop, we got kitted up and headed up to Titan.
As I had already rigged it on the Tuesday, this speeded things up and pretty soon we were all down at the bottom with no drama's :cheer: . From there we had a steady trip through, stopping off at the bottom of Leviathon for a chockie break, it was at this point that Jim was starting to feel it so after passing the Bung and Short By-Pass we took his tackle bag off him and shoved him to the front to set the pace.
Steady going through Colostamy but we made it :cheer: the rest of the trip was also steady but finally we got to Buxton Sump for a wash off before exiting via Peak, emerging into glorious sunshine B)
Trip time 5hrs
Jim Nicholls, James Finch, Stu Abbott, Andy Mason, Keith Mason

Don’t get me wrong and im not trying knock it, titan is a fantastic place but if you think about it its just a big pitch with a rebelay half way down , it would be a lot more fun if it followed the wall down with multiple rebelays and some traverses , just think you could have the worlds first underground via ferrate in there ( hmmm now there is a thought )

Not knocking it dude, I was refering more to the whole trip rather than just the Titan part of it :)

I don't actually like the trip that much, I agree the pitch needs to be broken up more. It's a right pain in the butt descending on a stop. I however would love to give the JH route a go. Hmm you caving this long weekend Keith? Monday is probbably best for me if you are underground, don't mind if I phone you in the morning to check your still going do you? ;)

Jims camera was helmet mounted - the pics above are using my old fashioned hand mounted camera ;)

I been looking at thos Go-pro things, I kept thinking they would get in the way but looking at it, its not much bigger than my backup light. But I am left with the problem of having no backup light if I have the go-pro strapped to my head.

The other issue with the camera's I have had in the past is lighting and scratching the lense.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
