Monday 11th June 2012 -Alan Sp8, Lugger, PP, Richards Mercer & Bendall, Dave & Ruth t'other side.
in other words a united nations digging team
Absent for quite some time but responding to a call to arms from Alan we're back on with it.

Sump back pumping outlet must have become restricted in our absence requiring start/stop pumping operations to prevent overflow running back into sump. Hence long delay and strategic decission taken to abort any idea of b*****g today. Eventually broke airspace, and vocal connection with Dave & Ruth on the Rift Pot side
Plan now to extend pipework back further to infinite soakaway and let ******* commence.to make a passable connection

Tuesday 12th June – Another attempt to lower the sump, This time Lugger,PP & RB made a early start followed 2 hours later by SP8 who managed to get the Jimny up the Turbury road. It was hoped that by the time Sp8 arrived the sump would be empy and the holes drilled, but no such luck. The link passage towards Rift Pot still had 4 inch of water in it, so it was not possible to drill and B***. A further hour of pumping made very little difference to the water level, so we called it a draw. All the equipment was removed from the cave. We need to try again next week if it stays dry.
If it was Euro Football Score. Low Douk Cave 2 diggers 0

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
