As the were still a few try cavers left on the Sunday morning :) , we opted for a trip into Old Ing, but to make it a bit more fun for them we pre rigged Dismal Hill to use as our exit.....water levels permitting  .
After going to have a look at the sump first we then made our way back up the streamway to the climb up into the sump bypass crawl.
Once we were all through this and now the right side of sump two, we set of downstream, which in a few places was very sporting also plenty of foam and scum on the walls and in the roof :woohoo: not a place to have been the day before  after a couple of acrbatic traverses we arrived at our ladder and made our way out to glorious sunshine, unfortunately this didn't last as by the time we had walked back to the cars it was pi@%ing it down :(
Trip time 1hr45
Samantha Mason, Ruth Smith, Racheal, Matt, Pete James, Ales Hrabec, Stu Weston, Keith Mason

We rigged the pitch on the right hand side of the track as you walk to Old Ing, we rigged for ladder and lifeline this time although I have done it before as an SRT pitch ;)
If you use the entrance on the other side of the track then this can be free climbed, or so I've been told.

That would be the new entrance, which is supposedly easier than the old entrance.

After talking to Neville, its on my todo list to do the old entrance, maybe a quick friday evening trip if you fancy it sometime dude

Super (though I was thinking more the new entrance :-) )

Really keen to go caving at the minute, I'm thinking of the Saturday off the Presidents Weekend Saturday though. The Friday I'm chaperoning an infants school prom, whatever that entails! (encouraging kids to spend all their money at the PTA sweet stall and not the catering departments fruit stall if I read between the lines correctly)

Or could be another quick sunday trip dude :P

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
