Had a couple of novices from our village who wanted to have a go at caving, so off to Birkwith we went.
Headed into Birkwith first, upto the canal and back, closely followed by Old Ing, down to the sump and back.
Next headed for Browgill and went through to to Calf Holes where everyone enjoyed a dip under the waterfall as the water was reasonably low and surprisingly warm (ish). Next headed behind the waterfall, surprised to see how far it went, got to the chamber at the end then headed back through the system.
While getting changed into dry clothes it p***ed it down so ended up soaked again

Keith Curran, Nick Martin, Nathan Horner, Julie Butcher, James Finch
Time - 4 hours ish

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
