Ales was keen to go caving on Friday evening, so we dropped our stuff at the hut, had a brew, quick chat to Sp8 and an hour had dissapeared. I decided illusion would be a good quick trip - needing no gear and a few interesting formations for ales to photograph.
When most people were watching the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games - we were opening the sump, which was full to the roof when we arrived at it. A 3gallonbucket and 130+ Bales later (300 -400gallon af water!) and the level had dropped enough to get through with helmet off and one ear out of the water.
Now quite chilled we rushed round having a look at a few of the nice bits and legged it back out and over to the Pub where the hot fire was welcome for once in July.
Ales may be less keen on a Friday evening in future.....
