Thursday 2/8/12 Bull Pot
Gordon (solo).
Rigging practice. Took 100m+ rope............ only managed 1st and second pitch

Trip time 2& 3/4hrs.
The return to BP Sunday 5/8/12
Team: Pete James & Gordon
Trip time 4 1/2 hours.
Not much water in but forecast 'unstable'
Pete Rigged 1st 2nd & 3rd pitches.
I rigged (for practice the wet pitch)..
Pete volunteered to de-rigg the wet pitch (thanks Pete) and come back down
- whilst I started to rigg the traverse and Y hang on the 4th pitch.
I was looking forward to this. As it was a first for me doing the 2 pendulum deviations. But very enjoyable.
Went very smoothly. No hitches. So Damian's training is really paying off now.

At bottom of 4th pitch, we climbed down.
Showed Pete the start of 5th pitch. But decided (as we had left the rope at top of last pitch

) that we would leave the 5th pitch for 'another day' as Pete put it...'something to come back for'.
Also explored the other bit o' passage under a lovely load of water coming down on our heads, to what looked like a sump? Pete talked me into wading into it - up to my waist. The roof was closing down so I came back, didn't fancy going any further so I do not know if it does?
Pete de-rigged mine, me his.
Great day out. Cheers Pete.
Is n't it a really good feeling when it all goes to plan?!
And the Bulls revenge?.....
When I got home I put all my kit out to dry on the drystone wall that separates the house from the field next door. And at 8.30 we got a phone call from a neighbour to say 'the Bull in the field next door is eating your washing!'
The bull had been pulling my kit off the wall and nibbling my furry!
Ahhh well add a new one to caving hazards! Perhaps he was interested in my cow's tails?
