As Ruth and Myself had both got someone who fancied having a go at caving we joined forces and met up mid week for a Giants trip. Not a bad turn out with 7 of us in total, after the normal introductory banter and getting them kitted up, we were off.
After a few lamp problems at the entrance (thanks Colum) we made our way to the top of Garlands Pot, we rigged this for SRT rather than ladder and lifeline so we could let them have a try at abing and prussiking.
Once down Garlands it was Srt kit off, then the joys of the Crabwalk :woohoo: when we reached the bottom of it we headed up through the Eating House and carried on to do the Round Trip. I thing they all enjoyed the joys of the Windpipe , did the High Level route back towards Garlands Pot. All that was left then was kits back on, prussik up and head out, think they enjoyed it and who knows maybe two new members.
Trip time 2hrs30

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
