As Chris wanted to tick off Marble Steps, that was were the 4 of us headed to. Fairly steady going, although we did have a bit of a cock up with ropes so had to do the bypass route for the second pitch
Went down to the bottom via the Ninety route, then crawled upstream till we got to the old dig then it was just a case of retrace our steps back to daylight.
Trip time 3hrs30
Susan Blackburn, Alex Wallman, Chris Tate, Keith Mason

Take no notice of him Paul, it's well worth doing dude. A choice of 3 routes in and 2 routes to the bottom :)

I agree with Keith its a great cave, although I wimped out of doing the 90 I would be more than happy to go back and even have a go rigging a different route.

I thought Marble Steps Pot was a great trip when I last did it. On ladders of course ( just shows how long ago it was )

Horrible trip? Nah its an decent trip. No mud, plenty of SRT and some big passages. Granted there is one moderately tight pitch in the middle, but other then that there is nout to it.

Only problem is, its too short as it don't go anywhere at the bottom.

Sorry you are wrong Alex, you just have not been to the end of Marble Steps Pot yet. There are at least two ways on at the bottom - One heading towards Keld Head & the other towards Rift Ireby etc. where do you think all that water goes? B)

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
