Unfortunately I could only interest (read conscript) one person between Hades and the YSS for Newby Moss Pot. Fortunately only one tackle sack was required so the trip was on. The entrance seemed a bit tighter than I remembered it – either it had moved slightly since the collapse or maybe I’d just over indulged the night before –but it turned out to be the hardest bit of the trip and we were soon in more spacious surroundings. Indeed, the 2nd half of the cave is a fine combination of watered pitches and well decorated chambers, but all too soon it terminates at a rather optimistic dig.

Excellent Sunday trip.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
