The situation at the hut was pretty chaotic in the morning. There was probably only one person who was sure about his plan. Bryan. He wanted to do Marble steps: Dry route. He packed the ropes at 6 in the morning I guess due to the surplus of sleep :) and waited for the others. Since Marble steps had somewhat good reputation in YSS, I decided to join him and Stuart decided to go as well after a few minutes. The second team who decided to go there was Martin, Jo, Sam and Emma. They took the Gully route. Bryan rigged all the pitches down to Ninety where we had some doubts about the water but finally our caving enthusiasm won and we decided to abseil down this pitch. First Bryan and Stuart who came back fairly soaked. I enjoyed the swing to the pitch and then very quickly rappelled down. I wouldn't call it a spray as Bryan did. Cats and dogs can fall also underground! Fast prusiking up with all the dogs and cats and derigging the last pitch. We took Gully route on the way back which is pretty nice as well. We had very good timing since we met we the other group just at the entrance. Very nice exchange trip!

Cheers Brian for taking the initiative and encouraging us to get out caving in good time.
Good exchange trip.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
