The Sunday morning is a bit more difficult. But it looks like that I’m alive, I can walk, I can see…I CAN DO SOME CAVING! My plan wasn’t really a caving trip for Sunday but several trips are proposed, two digging trips, two classic caves. One of the classic caves is Antre de Venuse.A cave which I’ve never heard about and where I’ve never been. I was promised that it’s not a long trip so I could have some time to visit other friends down in Grenoble. But what was even more important was the advertisement: probably the most beautiful cave in Vercors. Let’s see if they are liars
The morning is pretty cold and the change at the car really hurts. We are 6 in total. My friend Manu brought his two sons: Tanguy who is 12 years old and who was with me in Gouffre Berger in Salle de 13 two years ago…… The second son is Timeo – 5 years old. Impressive family. The access to the cave requires negotiating some steep and long hill covered by a reasonable amount of snow. The entrance to the cave is stuck by ice so it takes us about 20 minutes to get in. The entrance is small and it’s very very cold. I’m totally frozen while waiting for rigging. After 20 meters pitch a huge cave opens. It’s about 20-30 high, 15 meters wide and is MASSIVELY decorated. I cannot believe. The cave is about 1km long and you can just walk along. I cannot say more than that it’s really one of the pretties cave I’ve ever seen. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful caves in Vercors. We spend about 1 and half hours by walking, taking pictures and discovering all the small pretty bits.
The way down from the cave on sledges is a bit faster. It was a good decision to come…
Trip time: 2:30
