Has anyone been to Crackpot? It is in a pasture near Hollin House at Ceackpot, The one and only time I went there was about thirty years ago when it was a new find. All I can really remember are the thousands of straw stalagtites and a long crawl through them while trying not to knock them down. An easy pleasant trip nice for a summers day

Thanks for the replies to this topic it has revived memories in the distant days. Has anyone looked st the old mines above Gunnerside?I was helping with surveys for these with the Peak District Mines and Historic Society, This was pre Magpie days before they became embroiled with the sough which consequently caused a sudden rush of water down the river and a few damp feet in Matlock.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
