Five of us put our names down for this one and after the drive over to Kingsdale, we soon found ourselves on the steady walk up to find Floyd's entrance. Since my last visit some six years ago the old oil drums had been replaced with nice new slippy black plastic tubeing :)
The problem now was how to get in and out as we had no spare kit for this, the problem was soon solved when we found some scaff pipe and old rope behind the wall ;) So off we went and after negotiating the first section of the entrance series we soon found ourselves in the chamber before the next section which can either be done at stream level or a traverse in the top of the rift.
I opted for the traverse leaving the rest to try the stream level, after a short while i dropped back down into the streamway just before the first pitch, where i was soon joined by Susan and Ruth who informed me that Nigel and Ales where turning back,
So the 3 of us carried on to the top of the first pitch, where further progress meant putting on your SRT kit in a very confined space, after what seemed like ages we eventually found ourselves down this pitch and Mon Petit pitch. After a short sectoin of crawling in the streamway we popped out into the impressive Galerie pas Mur, at this point we didn't have the survey as it was still in Nigel's possesion and as the way on was not obvious and time was getting on we decided to call it and start to make our way out. 5 bags between 3 of us wasn't going to be fun, but as we progressed back to the top of the first pitch we heard Nigel's welcoming voice as he had come back in to help with the bags. After lots of thrutching and cursing we eventually saw daylight and the short climb back out to surface.
Trip time 5hrs30
Ruth Smith, Susan Blackburn, Nigel Steel, Alse Hrabec, Keith Mason

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
