As Carol fancied having another go at caving to see if she could get back into it, we opted for a trip into Giants. Bit bleak getting changed and for the walk up, but once in the entrance and out the elements it was a lot better. Made our way to top of Garlands, stopping for a few photos on the way. Rigged Garlands for SRT and once down this we had the pleasure of the crabwalk, put Carol in front so she could set the pace and pretty soon we were at the Eating House. As we didn't fancy the trek back up the crabwalk we carried on to do the round trip, windpipe wasn't too bad but still as cold as ever. From there it was a steady meander to regain the top of the crabwalk where we dropped back down to stream level for the last bit back to Garlands. Quick prussik up the pitch and we made our way back to the surface, just as bleak on the walk back and whilst getting changed.
Trip time 3hrs
Carol Mullins, Keith Mason

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
