After a bit of faff, we managed to get three groups organised for a Sunday outing to Kingsdale. A Hades group headed to Simpson's, while the other two groups opted for Swinsto.
We'd split into two groups of three to do the pull-through, which worked really well with three ~50 metre ropes between us. The long crawl ensured that our group got a bit of a headstart on the pitches, but we always managed to stay close enough to make sure everyone was OK and get ropes passed forward, whilst leaving the other team to pull-through. This was particularly useful when rigging both sections of the biggest pitch, which has a midway ledge you didn't really want too many people loitering on.
It was a good job we kept moving so well, as the water seemed really cold and I was never very warm. An enjoyable trip though, beyond the crawl
Team 1: Richard Rae, Susan Blackburn, Emma Beecroft
Team 2: Claire Coomber, Paul Coomber, Mike Foley (Hades)
Time: Around 2h45 (short enough to start getting worried that those in Simpson's were taking so long!)
