Ruth arrived Friday evening with Ales in tow. They were up in the Dales for a trip with Keith who was not able to get there till later. Great news for me as it meant a blast through Yordas on the Friday night which is my idea of a Friday night trip. 5 minutes from the car, blasted with cold water but back out within the hour.

Ales rigged the Pot for us, and having negotiated the deviation and flake we set off into the stream which was wet but not desperate. Turn left for the upper entrances to climb the tree trunk and free climb to pop out and head back up to the Pot to descend again, this time down to the Chapter House pitch where we opted for a pull through. Annoyingly the rope wasn't long enough and although we got off at the bottom, the other end to pull down was well out of reach and so as I rigged it I went back up to the upper entrance to retrieve it, abseiling down it again and this time tying a little extra to the end to make it an easy grab whilst trying to avoid the waterfall.

Out into the chamber and I tried to show off the place to Ales who had not been, but sadly my memory failed and it transpired he knows more of the place than I do, so that was a little embarrassing.

Back to the car and off back to the school house.

Thanks a lot for the trip Ian and for patience during my rigging practice and for the comments! I have to build my rigging practice and selfconfidence step by step :) My memory wasn't better than yours, I know nothing about Yordas :woohoo:

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
