Quick one - was up in the dales over the weekend - not for caving, but more darts and beer drinking with my brothers. Both pretty anti going underground however dragged them into Yordas on Monday morning armed with wellies and Mag lites. My first look round - fantastic waterfall, lots of water, managed to get soaked as ever.

Were you surprised by how large the main chamber is for such a little distance into the cave?

Interested to know where the stream goes to/where does it emerge?

Given that Ian's link doesn't seem to work for me, I'll tell you that the water sinks at the base of the chamber (bottom left-hand corner) and emerges again to the left of where you walk up to Yordas itself.

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
