As the permit said Car Pot then thats what 5 of us decided to do, the weather wasn't looking to bad so after bagging up the ropes etc we set off for Clapham. Once parked up and changed we set off up towards Trow Gill, as we passed Ingleborough show cave the weather changed its mind and treated us to a flurry of snow. After we arrived at the shakehole and rigged the first pitch, we dropped down to the bottom of the rift, but after several attempts to get through to the top of the second pitch and getting soaked with icy cold snow melt we decided to call it a day. So after a long cold walk back to the car we were soon changed and heading off to Inglesport for some cheesy chips.

Followed by a few pictures... Unfortunately, with no picture of the Baptistery crawl this time :-( The slot towards the second pitch was horrendous.

I read an account of Carr Pots discovery last night, including an interesting story concerning the ledge that is half way down the first pitch. I have scanned in Adobe reader and will post below, you will have to rotate the images. The reference is Howard Becks 1984 edition of Gaping Gill.
Hope this works,

About

There are many club organised caving weekends, with a mixture of easy and difficult caving.  Over the past few years we have given lots of people the opportunity to experience caving with our "Try Caving" events.  These are quite popular and quite a few people have subsequently joined the club. We have YSS members caving most weekends so it is easy for new cavers to tag onto the easier caving trips and find people to help with more training.
