Spending a family Christmas at the club hut meant a hectic Christmas Day morning with grandkids,so with my eldest daughter a plan was hatched to make a quick blast up Penyghent whilst Mavis made Christmas dinner for 9 and entertained the grandkids. The time to the top on 45 minutes seemed a reasonable time from the hut. trouble is you still always meet a YSS member or Ex YSS member on route and today was no exception. In spite of good visibility on route the summit was covered in cloud and was packed with Christmas Day walkers
It was an even quicker blast downhill only to find Mavis had moved dinner time back to 5.00pm so we could all help make it.
