The idea was a short trip underground with a pretty simple pitch with a reward for doing it, although the bimble around the Chunrs and Dollytubs window pitch, didn't go too well.
Bernies wasn't selling food, Inglesport was shut and the café round the corner wasn't a veggie palace but suitably fed we headed up to the Alum Pot Lane to find a couple of blokes getting changed to go on a bimble round the Churns and the Dollytubs window pitch. What are the chances ha! So we faffed about a fair bit to let them get a head start before heading up to the Diccan Pot entrance and crawling through to St Pauls, going over the cheese press and around to the window pitch. A little breather to let the other guys come up and derig, before we set off down. Ian did the first drop to the traverse and then in the wait for me to rig it, worried himself into turning back and so we set off for the cheese press. I decided to give it a go with my srt kit on and failed just in time to avoid being giggled at by an outward bounds group who we could hear approaching. They were actually as far back as Plank Pool, or Double Shuffle, I can never remember which way round they are.
As we were waiting for them to pass, the first guy fell in, and as the resulting wave washed past us we, Ian and I shared a chuckle, regretting it as soon as their leader suggested we pass before the rest of them, all eyes on us! but we skipped by without any bother and set off for the car and the drying room.
Ian kindly offered to give me a lift over to Clapham and also wait for me to get back from OBJ which would give his kit a few more hours to dry in the drying room, lucky me, cheers dude.
